This home in the beautiful Alameda neighborhood was relatively new at 15 years old, especially compared to many of the neighboring homes built in the early 1900s! But, all homes need a little sprucing up when getting them ready for market.
The home was very well loved by the owner and the process of preparing it for sale took a lot of care and time. Prepping a home for sale, regardless of the price point, is essential to maximize the final sale price.
There is no paint by numbers solution for this as every house is different. I put together a list of items to accomplish and prioritized them based on time, budget, and potential return on investment. I helped schedule and organize many of the contractors and made frequent visits to the home as the work progressed. I even supervised the removal of a beloved piano. (If you’ve never watched a piano moved down multiple flights of stairs… I recommend taking your heart medication first!)
I worked on final touches including the purchase and placement of accessories to prepare for photography. We were lucky to have beautiful blue skies and a nice sunset on photo day! I decided to include drone photos, a walk through video, floor plan, and extra luxury photos for our print material.
It all came together and the buyers showed their appreciation! We received multiple offers after only 2 days on the market. This is rare for a luxury listing and I was thrilled with the result. The extra time and effort was worth it to maximize the sale price for my client and relieve some of the stress during the process.
